Hey! I'm Honkbird!
You may know me from my art. You more likely know me from knowing me! I've been more sociable as of late on my well, social medias, and post my art on Tumblr. I'm what you might call ... Popular
Ok but what do you do...?
I draw! I code too and that's a passion of mine but I've been having to rediscover that passion admist my capstone research taking a toll on me emotionally. Art though, I do that a lot. This year I've been trying to draw a comic-a-week to have more fun with storytelling and to improve my writing skills. Results vary, though.
Unfortunately, I do not do commissions but I try to open requests somewhat frequently, or do raffles on occasion too. I try to be whimsical with my art and have fun with it, but every now and then I try to draw something emotive. I draw with a Digital Tablet on Krita, and sometimes I draw in a little booklet with Mechanical Pencils I got in the bookstore.
There's no coding projects I can share without exposing my identity, as I try to do things that I can attach to my name publicly on git or something for uh, hiring credibility. My portfolio is primarily in Webdesign and Webapps, but that's mostly due to the development ecosystem I was taught. I have a fond appreciation of actual programs that run outside of the browser-- and I quite detest the popularity of Single Page Applications
I also really love Table Talk Games, and really embrace the growing movement to support more indie systems. I have very strong opinions about the commodification and performance art of the medium as often advertised, but that's neither here nor there. If you're open to any bit of advice right now about it, please try and adopt this one diction suggestion: A game is run with a Host and Guests. This idea was first introduced to me in a blog post regarding how the language in BDSM roleplay can better describe the dyanmic and the consent between parties-- along with the roles people take. You can read more about it on their website, RPGs are BDSM.
